BOCA RATON, Fla. – Saint John Paul II Academy Athletics proudly recognizes Head Baseball Coach Pete Graffeo for being selected by FAU Athletics for this week’s Hometown Coach Spotlight!

The FAU Hometown Coach Spotlight recognizes local coaches who have made a positive impact on their athletes and communities. Coach Pete has built an impressive coaching career spanning more than 16 years at the high school and travel baseball levels, including founding non-profit Boca Thunder Baseball in 2006.

Throughout his career, Coach Pete has been recognized among the best coaches in South Florida. He success has earned him multiple coaching honors, including  Sun Sentinel Coach of the Year four times (2021, 2023, 2025, 2026), Palm Beach Post Coach of the Year three times (2019, 2021, 2026), and HSBN Coach of the Year four times (2013, 2019, 2021, 2022). In 2021, he was named FACA State of Florida Coach of the Year. Coach Pete has amassed 237 career victories, and his teams have earned six district championships, 10 regional appearances, and three regional final appearances.

Beyond the wins and accolades, Coach Pete’s lasting impact can be seen in the countless student-athletes he has coached and mentored throughout the years.  Coach Pete has coached over 50 student athletes who went on to play at the collegiate level, and three who went on to play at the professional level. His commitment to developing young athletes and growing the game of baseball has made him an important part of the South Florida baseball community.

Coach Pete will be recognized on the field this Saturday September 12th at 7:30 p.m. when FAU takes on Navy at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, FL.
